Who We Are

We are healthcare workers, caregivers, patients & their families coming together to fight for a healthy care system for all. From nursing homes to 24-hour care facilities, there are thousands of compassionate, committed caregivers who are  struggling to make ends meet, earning as low as $8.44 an hour with minimal benefits. Further, low staffing levels in New Jersey nursing homes and care facilities put patients at serious risk while stretching caregivers too thin. Garden State CARES is bringing caregivers and patients together to advocate for a $15 minimum wage for caregivers and safe staffing in New Jersey nursing homes.

We believe treating caregivers well results in better quality care for patients and residents.

CNAs, dietary workers, janitors, patients & their families -  we encourage all to join Garden States CARES and together fight for $15 an hour and safe staffing!
