I support better staffing levels for Certified Nursing Assistants in New Jersey nursing homes!
Safe staffing is a critical concern for NJ patients, caregivers, and families. When there are not enough caregivers in a facility, patients are put at risk, caregivers are stressed and overworked, and everyone suffers. New Jersey nursing homes in particular are plagued with chronic CNA understaffing, risking the health of elderly and disabled patients across the state in need of 24/7 direct care. In fact, New Jersey ranks 45th in the nation for CNA hours per nursing home resident per day, according to data from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
It is the responsibility of our elected officials to make sure nursing homes hire enough caregivers to protect the health & safety of NJ patients and workers.
